Uplifting Videos
Dec. 1st, 2012 10:56 pmSo, inspired by a certain someone that blogged every day for a month, I have decided to try and do the same.
I love youtube, and one of my favorite things to do is randomly link people to videos that I think will make them happy at any specific time. So here are some of my personal favorites that always make me feel good about myself and the world.
One of my earliest memories is watchting the original Star Trek series with my father. It was like the early spark that would lead to my general love of scifi, fantasy, anime, Power Rangers and magical girls. Captain Kirk was my childhood hero. Now, Enterprise was the final series made. While there are very strong opinions about it, these, the final words said by the three Enterprise captains are an incredibly powerful and uplifting message that completely incapsilates the series.
And no, there was no movie made after with a whole new cast where a young Kirk acted more like a young Picard.
Now, first of all, I am a Coca-Cola drinker. Except for Pepsi Throwback, I will always pick a Coke version of a product over a Pepsi version. Now, I love this commercial. It reminds me of how the more things change the more things stay the same. It reminds me that despite what the news would have you believe that the world is not a place of growing bitterness and darkness (it just has better news coverage now).
People get so wrapped in politics, propaganda and hot button issues that everyone forgets one very important thing: politicians are really people just like you and me. Republican, Democrat, Independent, and all the other parties, lack of parties and so much more are people with friends, families and loved ones. Seeing this video made by politicians working together to Rick Roll their own state reminds me that even politicians aren't above a good Rick Roll.
When my family started going to baseball games I hated it. But somehow, some day, things turned around. I grew to love going to games. I adored watching the Pirates play, even if they usually lost. I still find baseball on TV to be boring, but I love watching a game live and in person so much. This video also shows the teams history and there is nothing better than a badass history video.
So there you go, four videos I find personally uplifting. Please, if you would like to, share yours in the comments and why you find them uplifting.
