So, back at Christmas my mother got me a PS3 game.  It is an RPG, like most the games I own.  Now, shopping for video games for me can be hard since it is difficult for others to keep track of what I have.  This year I was given Last Rebellion.  It is a game that does not have a single positive review anywhere.  It is repetitive, short, looks more like a PS2 game and easy.

And I've fallen in love with it.

The universe is fascinating.  I honestly care about the characters.  I can't wait to get to the next cutscene.  Instead of using the in-game
engine it uses beautiful stills that looks like they were hand-painted.

Of course it has even less fandom then my other rare fandoms.

Yup, you and I are both definitely Idea Factory fans, there's no doubt about it.

They might, actually. Here's what I dug up:

Hit Maker

Because NIS is a regular partner with IF and the others, it stands to reason that Hit Maker is part of the family, at least indirectly. And they made Blade Dancer, which I very much like, so I'll have to give Last Rebellion a second look.

Where the family really gets complicated: Koei-Tecmo bought Gust recently, but Gust is still tied to the IF family, so who knows? (There have been some issues with forthcoming Atelier localizations; NISA still has the U.S. rights, but they've gotten a bit thorny.)

Yeah, I should've figured you already knew that, heh.
